Daines Kapp began as a bold venture in 1989, driven by the vision and determination of 24-year-old Kevin Daines and his partner Nicole Kapp. With the financial support of Nicole’s father, Numa Kapp, they incorporated Daines Kapp Insurance Brokers on 1st June 1989.
Kevin brought with him seven years of experience in the insurance industry, having worked for a local family-run business since leaving school in 1982. During this time, he built upon his knowledge of technical policy obligations, exemplary advice, and most importantly, always putting the customer first—values that remain at the heart of Daines Kapp today.
The business started modestly, operating from a client’s car hire shop front in Regents Park Road, North Finchley, with just a desk, phone, and fax machine. Nicole managed the administration while holding down another full-time job, and Kevin was out meeting clients and securing new business. Within a year, they moved into their own office at Tally Ho Corner, North Finchley.
By 1994, the business had grown significantly. They repaid the family loan from Numa within two and a half years and were financially strong enough to hire new staff. Christine Ronan joined in 1993 and has been a valued team member ever since. The company purchased a freehold office building at 2 Baldock Street, Ware, Hertfordshire, next to their current location.
In 2013, Kevin’s eldest son, Stefan, joined the company, continuing the family legacy and upholding the values that have defined Daines Kapp for decades. Today, the business employs 14 staff members and manages over 1,500 policies annually. Kevin remains actively involved, finding personal satisfaction in working with clients, many of whom have been with him since the early days.
