Daines Kapp Insurance Brokers, an independent insurance brokerage established in 1989 and based in Ware, Hertfordshire, is proud to announce that George Worby Cert CII has been named the Insurance Practitioner Apprentice of the Year 2023 at the inaugural CII & PFS Apprenticeship Awards. The ceremony took place on Thursday 9 November 2023 at the Insurance Hall, London — marking the first time the Chartered Insurance Institute has presented these awards.
About the CII & PFS Apprenticeship Awards
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) is the UK’s leading professional body for insurance and financial services, supporting over 125,000 members worldwide. The CII & PFS Apprenticeship Awards were established to recognise outstanding achievement among apprentices in the insurance and financial planning sectors. The 2023 ceremony was the first of its kind, celebrating the very best apprentices from across the industry. In the Insurance Practitioner Apprentice of the Year category, George was selected ahead of two highly commended candidates: Katie Kent of AXA Health and Rosie Gospage of Brit Insurance.
George’s Journey at Daines Kapp
George joined Daines Kapp in February 2021, beginning his career in insurance through an apprenticeship from day one. Over the following 15 months, he completed the Level 3 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship — a programme designed to develop a broad range of insurance knowledge, skills and behaviours, alongside sitting the Chartered Insurance Institute examinations. George passed with a Distinction, achieving Cert CII status. Celebrating George’s achievement, Stefan Daines, Broking Director at Daines Kapp said: “George puts 100% into everything he does, and the apprenticeship was no exception. George works meticulously and ensures the work he produces is always to the highest standard. Passing the Apprenticeship with Distinction is a true reflection of the hard work George has dedicated throughout. I am delighted he is being recognised for his efforts and achievements today.” George said: “It is an honour to be named the CII’s Insurance Practitioner Apprentice of the Year for 2023. The apprenticeship gave me the opportunity to learn the essentials of insurance. Achieving Cert CII status, it has given me a strong foundation to develop as an insurance broker. I would encourage anyone to think about studying an apprenticeship, no matter what stage of your career.”
